Living Our Dreams

I have 5 kids ages 20,18,15,13 and 11. Between running our household, and our shop being open 7 days a week we haven't had much time for any renovations but we are trying to fix up our farmhouse back to its 1854 period,on a limited (really small) budget, and we're both DIY'ers as we have learned the hard way that no one cares as much for your home as you do.(that's another story)
I love "rustic lodge/ cabin" style, and can't resist chipping ,peeling painted, primitive Canadiana pine furniture or anything made out of birch bark. As well as white ironstone pitchers, crocks, decoys, turquoise and white enamelware, antique quilts,Hudson's Bay blankets, tongue and groove paneling (simpler cleaner lines a little more than bead board),old pine floors and hooked rugs..these are a few of my favourite things :)
I have been wanting to blog for the past year or more but just haven't been able to fit it in to my crazy life...things have calmed down a little. My oldest daughter Jaclyn is away at Seneca College taking Journalism, which allowed us to rearrange some bedrooms and repaint them all..just days before Christmas (we work well under pressure)
I wanted to be able to document and share our renovations and get inspiration from other boggers who understand WHY we love our old drafty, creaking floorboard house, and who GET the thrill of the hunt for the next piece for our home or shop...
